The character of J’onn J’onzz or the Martian Man Hunter was first published on Detective Comics #255 back in 1955. He was created by Joseph Samachson and Joe Certa. His powers include intangibility, telekinesis, telepathy, flight, super strength and much more. The Martian Man Hunter is a member of the Justice League of America (JLA) and of the Justice League (JL). In DC’s New 52 reboot J’onn J’onzz is a main member of the JLA headed by Col. Trevor. Here is DC Collectible’s version of the New 52 version of The Martian Man Hunter.

J’onn J’onzz made his comic book debut on Detective Comics #255 (1955).

Martian Man Hunter figure has around 11 points of articulation.
As we all know DC Collectible figures have less articulation but has high amount of sculpted detail.
They are more of a statue than it is an action figure.

The Martian Man Hunter figure was sculpted by Phil Ramirez.

Side of the head has excellent detail.

The figure’s cape is made of soft rubber and it is a bit heavy making the figure a little imbalance. But with a little patience and he can stand on his own.

BLACK MANTA NEW 52 BY DC COLLECTIBLES

Aquaman’s arch enemy Black Manta first appeared in Aquaman No. 35 back in 1967. As the Aquaman comic book was re-launched by DC comics, so does the character of Black Manta. Just like in the old books Black Manta is still one of the biggest threats to Aquaman. Black Manta’s suit is specially made for deep sea exploring and fighting. His suit provides him with extra human strength, a telepathic scrambler to counter Aquaman and the ability to breath underwater.

Black Manta has around 13 points of articulation
and came with two swords and a triangular blade.

Black Manta keeps his weapons in his back.

Although the figure is all black,
if you look closer the figure has excellent sculpted details on it.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES FISHFACE

Name: Xever
Specie: Mutant
Weapons: Sword, knife & venom
Team: Foot Clan

Once a lowly street thug, Xever was recruited by the Foot Clan. Serving directly under The Shredder Xever became a skilled fighter. After being mutated by the Kraang, Xever became the mutated fish known as Fishface and still serves as a loyal member of Shredder’s Foot Clan ninja.

Closer look at Fishface head sculpt.
I was impressed with the sculpting detail as well as the painted eyes.

Fishface is equipped with robotic legs and a water breather. Fishface figure has around 9 points of articulation including the tail.

Here is a closer view of his breathing apparatus and the scales on his body.

Fishface came with a knife as well as a large sword.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES DOGPOUND

Name: Chris Bradford
Specie: Mutant
Weapons: Canine claws and spikes
Team: Foot Clan

Chris Bradford before he mutated into Dogpound.

The figure is not in scale with the other figures such as the turtles and the foot soldier. I think that he should definitely be bigger and taller.

Dogpound’s back spikes can be attached pretty easily.

Next is his tail which can be attached via a peg.

Spikes and tail attached to the figure.
His tail can be rotated much like Master Splinter’s tail.

Close up of Dogpound’s spiked arm.

The figure has hollow feet and due to his heavy body the figure has a bit of problem standing on its own.

The figure has nice sculpting in it. But I think that it needs more paint. Upon closer inspection you can see that several straps on his torso and feet are sculpted in but not painted. I think that the figure would definitely improve if more paint detail was given to it.

DC COLLECTIBLE NEW 52 BLACK ADAM

Black Adam is a fictional character published by Fawcett Comics from 1945 to 1973.  He was created by Otto Binder and C.C. Beck. Later on DC comics earned the publishing rights for the Captain Marvel A.K.A. Shazam title. Black Adam is the predecessor and arch enemy of Shazam. Like Shazam he too has magical powers which include super strength, speed, high intellect, invulnerability and many more. Most recently Black Adam was published in the Justice League New 52 as a bonus storyline. The bonus story focuses on how a boy acquired powers and became Shazam.

Black Adam first appeared in the Marvel Family #1 (1945)

DC Collectibles New 52 Super Villain Black Adam.
Black Adam figure has around 11 points of articulation.

Good sculpted and painted details. His lightning symbol has painted detail simulating power surges. His suit and belt has engraved details as well.

Close up of Black Adam’s mean looking head sculpt.
Black Adam was sculpted by Phil Ramirez.

Another thing that caught my attention was his boots. In the old comic books Black Adam had a simple yellow colored boot. But look at his boots now, what an improvement.

The cape was a welcome addition in Black Adams costume. T
he cape is made of soft rubber and is permanently fix, so do not attempt to remove it.

Closer look at his cape shows engraved detail and several holes.
The tattered look on his cape shows how ancient Black Adam is.
Nice touch DC.

DC made an excellent Black Adam figure. I like the facial expression, the new boots and his tattered cape. This figure is highly recommended.

STORM SHADOW BY HOT TOYS PART 2

Storm Shadow is back to show you his gear. Unlike the Snake Eye figure that came with several fire arms, Storm Shadow only have a pistol. But since Storm Shadow is not your typical soldier, he had goodies much better than your standard guns. Check out his awesome weaponry by scrolling down.

Storm Shadow from the G.I. Joe Retaliation movie.

Storm Shadow came with his twin swords. Hot Toys made an excellent replica of his swords both marked with the Arashikage clan logo.

Both scabbards can be stored at the back.

Like in the movies, Storm Shadow’s twin sword can be combined to form a weapon similar to Darth Mauls light sabers. So how do you merge the swords? Well Hot Toys did provide a small piece for that (see middle piece).

First you remove the end part of both swords. Then reconnect them using the connector.

He also came with several shuriken and a pair of sai.

All hail COBRA!!!
