MASTER SERGEANT GARY GORDON BY DAM FIGURES

It’s been a while since I posted about 1/6 scale military figure but here is a very interesting figure from the company Dam. He is a part of the Blackhawk down set that the company will be releasing.

Master Sergeant Gary Ivan Gordon was an elite sniper and a member of the 1st special forces operational detachment delta. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his action during the battle of Mogadishu on October 3, 1993. In the 2001 movie Blackhawk down actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had the honor of portraying him. Aside from the Medal of Honor Master sergeant Gordon received the following awards and decoration: Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, two Joint Service Achievement Medal, four Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, The Ranger Tab, Special Forces Tab, French Army Mountaineering Badge, Royal Danish Parachutist Badge and Joint Meritorious Unit Award.

Unlike the Rangers, several delta troopers carry extra ammo using vest or chest rigs such as the one that master sergeant Gordon carries. The chest rig contains 4 additional 30 round M16 mag and 2 grenades.

Closer look at his drop down holster with m1911 side arm and an extra pistol mag. On his equipment belt he has an additional 2 pistol mags and ammo pouch with grenade.

On the other side he carries the usual ammo pouch and a radio.

Back side of the figure showing his butt pack or dump pouch and 2 canteens.

Since this is a non license product the head sculpt is a bit off. But is still good and may even represent a generic soldier.

Additional photos of his load out.

A fully kitted Master Sergeant Gordon.

Close up of his Car-15 with suppressor a scope and improvised light system. During their time weapons are not yet that customizable and most special force’s operators would duct tape their light and other improvised attachments to their rifle.

Other side of the rifle showing the duct taped light. The pistol is also well made with several movable parts.

I have skipped several details on the equipment for this figure. To get a more detailed view of the sergeant’s equipment do check my review on ssgt. Eversmann also by dam figures. Click here.

Although the ssgt. Eversmann figure of dam was very well made which lead me to get this figure. There are several things in this figure that disappointed me. One of them is his dropdown holster, it’s not bad but they could improve it. Secondly his knee pads, I preferred the one that came with ssgt. Eversmann. Lastly his boots which looks a bit odd.
Despite several minor setback. The figure is worth getting and for its price range I highly recommend this figure and will be looking forward to completing my Blackhawk down movie crew.
