USN SEAL "OSCAR" BY DML

Here is another US Navy SEAL operator but this time his from the Vietnam war era. He is an old figure produced by Dragon Models Ltd. during its glory days. In those days web gear and boots were made of rubber unlike the current trend which is more realistic in its approach thus using clothe like materials. This shows how much the hobby has evolved and improved. Lets check out Oscar from DML'S NAM series.

Standard DML box. Simple but sturdy and collector friendly.

He is wearing ERDL camo top and Tiger Stripe patterned pants.

Oscar with green face paint and bandanna.

Oscar's web gear includes a standard ammo pouch with grenades.

First aid pouch and a canteen cover improvised as an ammo pouch

to carry the larger AK-47 mags.

Two water canteens.

His knife and side arm holster.

He carries an AK-47.

Unlike the regular army Special forces operators were given wider range of

weaponry and clothing to suit their missions.

MK 22 MOD 0 "Hush Puppy"

This pistol was a modified version of the Smith and Wesson Model 39.

The MK22 featured a suppressor, a slide lock and a raised iron sights.

I think DML pioneered the spring action feature in 1/6th scale weapons.

And in addition to the spring this Mk22 had removable suppressor and mag.

Before Hot Toys and Soldier Story took over the 1/6th scale military market,

DML was the top choice and this side arm just proved why.

I still consider this "hush puppy" to be one of the most detailed

and well made side arm in 1/6th scale

The Mk22 MOD 0 was designed to take out guard dogs without alerting

the entire group.

Often times Seal's and other Special Forces operators will use weapons that

are locally used by hostile forces. And the AK-47 was a common weapon used by

the Vietnamese during the war.

The AK-47 originated in Russia and was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov.
