NANO BLOCK BLUE BUDGERIGAR

I’m back with one of Nano Block’s miniseries set. This time I got the blue budgerigar. The set is categorized as level one by the manufacturer. The figure is made up of around 60 tiny blocks. Collecting Nano block is very addictive. Each set is unique and is fun to build. I’m looking forward to getting more sets of Nano Block in the future. But for now let’s have a look at the little guy.

The Budgerigar may be the most popular pet bird.
It is also known as “The Love Bird”.

This poor guy is lonely. I’ll try to mix and much some spare blocks to make a female version of him. Let’s hope I make it in time for him to have a date on Valentine ’s Day.
Hang in their buddy.

MARVEL SELECT STORM

Here is another Marvel Select figure review for you guys, this time the focus is on Storm. I have seen several video review of this figure on youtube, and most of them were disappointed in the figure. I was discouraged to buy the figure after all the bad reviews that it got, but as an X-men fan I finally gave in and got the figure. But before the photo review of the actual figure let’s have a short introduction for the character Storm.

Storm A.K.A. Ororo Munroe is a main stay member of the X-men. She once married Black Panther or King T’challa making her the queen of Wakanda. Ororo’s power include the ability to control and resist extreme weather, she is able to fly and has natural resistance to telepathy.

Storm was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum. She debuted in 1975 on the giant size X-men #1.
Giant Size X-men #1 published way back 1975

Like other Marvel Select figures the side of the packaging contains a nice art work.

Storm came with a danger room diorama.
Except for the accessories, the danger room base is similar to Cyclops’ and Gambit’s diorama base.

Close up of the circular saw and flame torch. Both the saw and flame can be easily removed from the wall of the danger room.

Closer look of the head, her hair is heavy making her very unstable.

The cape is made of hard plastic/rubber and it can’t be removed this hinders a lot of movement for the figure.

Though the cape is nicely sculpted, it is heavy making it very difficult for Storm to stand on her own. Storm did come with a black oval stand to help keep her upright but still she has a hard time balancing. I can understand that Marvel Select figure has limited articulation but a figure that has trouble standing on its own is a major let down.

DC COLLECTIBLES NEW 52 GREEN LANTERN

Here is another New 52 figure from DC Collectibles. This time it's Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. The costume and overall look was designed by artist Jim Lee, story by writer Geoff Johns and Sculpted by Jack Mathews. We all know that Hal is the greatest Lantern so I'll skip the chit chat and present the figure. Enjoy!

Like the other New 52 figure, the side art for Green Lantern is his silhouette.

DC Collectible New 52 Green Lantern has excellent color but did not come with any accessory.

Again the color is excellent and without smudge paint.

DEADPOOL BY MARVEL SELECT

Deadpool a.k.a. Dwayne wade is a mercenary well known for his talkative nature. Wade is a member of the x-force. Aside from his mouth he also has super fast healing ability much like wolverine. Wade is an expert at small arms and knives. Many consider him a wild card but wade is a well-rounded, assassin. Following the success of DC’s New 52 reboot, Marvel soon followed that same move rebooting their comic book titles and naming the event Marvel Now. Deadpool was one of the comic books that Marvel included in their Marvel Now event. Aside from having his own comic book series, he was also released several times by toy lines, notably by Marvel legends and Marvel Select.

Deadpool was created by BLANK and BLANK. He debuted in BLANK published BLANK by Marvel comic. He was also a part of the movie Wolverine Origins and was portrayed by actor Ryan Reynolds.

Here is Deadpool mask version (regular version) from Diamond Select’s Marvel Select toy line.

Marvel Select Deadpool with Marvel Now Deadpool first issue.

Diorama base for the Deadpool figure.

Deadpool with  his twin sword

  Double pistols

  Ninja sai

Deadpool came with the most accessory in the Marvel Select line. Aside from the base he came with two swords, two side arms, two sai and a rifle.

His sword can be stored on his back, while his pistols are holstered at his thigh.

Too bad the knives on his shoulder and leg are permanently molded.

Unlike Deadpool’s Marvel Legends counterpart, Deadpool lack’s articulation. But still I prefer and collect the Marvel Select line. The lack in articulation doesn’t bother me at all, maybe because I don’t play with them that much.
