MARVEL SELECT INCREDIBLE HULK

When genius Doctor Bruce Banner was accidentally exposed to gamma radiations while performing experiments for the government, he miraculously survived. To the people around him he looks normal but deep inside something changed. When Bruce was angry he transforms into a huge green monster known as Hulk. Anger and rage are the primary fuel for the Hulk. When Bruce changes into the Hulk he possesses unparallel strength, agility and endurance. He also has accelerated healing abilities, making him indestructible.

Hulk was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby way back in the 60’s. Hulk made his first appearance in the “The Incredible Hulk #1” published 1962 by Marvel Comics. Hulk had a TV series during the 70’s staring Lou Ferrigno as the hulk. In 2003 the movie “HULK” was released with actor Eric Bana playing the role of Bruce Banner. The most recent movie “The Incredible Hulk” was released 2008 this time with actor Edward Norton as Dr. Banner.

Before he became green, he was gray.

Hulk’s diorama base piece is a simple concrete floor with a crater.

Look at that mean looking face.
You don’t want to mess with a face like that.

Hulk SMASH!!!

Back of the figure still full of huge muscle.

IRONMAN MKI VER. 2.0 BY HOT TOYS

HAHAHA! Finally got my hands on Hot Toys Ironman Mk I version 2.0. I didn’t buy the first version so I am glad that HT re-released the figure and made some improvements on it specially the face of Tony Stark. Well let’s go directly to the figure!

Hot Toys really made an effort in making the packaging of their figures. The box is simple but is still very nice and elegant. Excellent work Hot Toys I really like the way you package your stuff.

Ironman Mk I out of the box. Let’s take a look at close up shots of the figure to better see the nice detail and excellent paint job.

First of a very well detailed and painted chest piece showing several markings and his arc reactor.

Right arm of the figure with the flame thrower.

On his left arm we can see the mini rocket and several switch and buttons.

Closer look at his mechanical limbs.

Back side of the figure. Like the front side it is well detailed.

Taking a closer look at the details on the back side. One thing that I like about Hot Toys is that they are good at hiding things. The cylindrical piece on the back holds the batteries for the LED which lights up his arc reactor. Hot Toys excels in incorporating the mechanism to the design of the figure.

Back side of the boots reveals a slightly less protected part of the armor.

Tony showing of his mask.

The mask can be easily attached to the top of the helmet. As you can see the mask has a hinge allowing it to swing down like the real deal. Very nice head sculpt of actor Robert Downey Jr.

Ironman Mk I ready to go!

Now on to the extra stuff that came with MK I version 2.0. First of we have a nice diorama stand showing the desert setting where Tony was held prisoner. The diorama also features several Stark Industry made weaponry.

Next we get several extra hands and a nice flame attachment for his flame thrower.

Close up on where to attach the flame piece. Read the instruction paper that came with the figure to avoid damage. In my opinion the flame attachment is too heavy for the figure. But still it’s a good addition.

Light function in his left arm.
His Arc reactor also lights up but in a white color.

Tony Stark does not want to get back in his box. Ok I’ll put him in the display case instead. Over all I’m very happy with this figure I highly recommend you guys get him especially if you have missed the first version.

MARVEL SELECT CYCLOPS

Cyclops also known as Scott Summers is one of the original members of the X-men. He is the first member of the X-men and was personally chosen by Xavier himself. Later on he became the field leader of the team and eventually became their leader. Cyclops is a natural leader and is an excellent strategist. He is often opposed by fellow X-men Wolverine but one thing in common to them is that both fell in love with the same woman, Jean Grey. Most of the time Cyclops is portrayed as the hero type but in recent story arcs it seems that Scott lost his way and turned evil (read AVX and you’ll know what I mean).

Cyclops was created by the legendary comic book writer Stan Lee and drawn by artist Jack Kirby. He first appeared in “The X-men #1” way back 1963. Well now let’s check the figure of Cyclops by Marvel Select.

The X-men #1 published 1963.

Side box art of Marvel Select. Nice art work as always.

Cyclops came with an alternative unmasked head sculpt.

Cyclops came with a danger room diorama.
The Danger room diorama is similar to the one given to Gambit and Storm.

Wanted to pose the figure as if he is going to push his visor and shot out Optic Blast but it’s kinda hard to do due to limited articulation. But it’s ok he is still one of my favorite Cyclops figure.

Actor James Marsden played the role of Cyclops in the X-men trilogy movies.

Cyclops as one of the Phoenix Five in the AVX story line.
