NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES APRIL O'NEIL

Name: April O’Neil

April with Donatello from the current Nickelodeon TMNT TV series.

The April O’Neil figure stands at around 4.75 inches tall and has around seven points of articulation.

April’s face is nicely made; even the paint is spot on.

Here is April with her training staff. April is being trained by Master Splinter to be a Kunoichi, a female ninja.

April also came with extra weapons which include a boken (wooden sword), kendo bamboo sword etc…

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES FOOT SOLDIER

Name: Unknown

Weapon: Traditional ninja weapons

Team: Foot Clan

Individually a Foot Soldier lack the power to take on a Ninja Turtle. In response, Foot Soldiers attack in huge numbers. So I got several extra Foot Soldiers for my turtles to fight against.

The Foot Soldiers are Shredders basic grunts. They are trained in the ways of the ninja. A Foot soldier is no match for a Ninja Turtle, but Foot Soldiers rarely fight one on one. They typically swarm the turtles into submission.

A basic Foot Soldier carries a katana as his main weapon and a knife as a backup weapon.

The figure has limited articulation but is still a must have for TMNT fan as they are the iconic enemy grunts. I wish that they included a hinge at the knee.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES RAPHAEL

Name: Raphael

Weapon: Twin Sai

Team: Ninja Turtles

Color: Red

Raphael is the biggest and probably the strongest among the four siblings. Raphael is very tough and highly skilled but has a hot temper and is easily taunted. His temper and quick to act attitude almost always causes trouble for him and his brothers.

Raphael keeps his twin sai holstered at the back.

Like the other Ninja Turtles Raphael also came with several added weapon.

Raphael is able to grip his Sai in between his fingers much like in the cartoon series. Nice job here Playmates.

Don’t mess with Raphael.

Raphael has around 15 points of articulation which include a ball joint at the head, shoulder and thigh, swivel at the wrist, elbow and knee, hinge at the elbow and knee. With the amount of articulation points, kids would surely have a good time playing with Raphael.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES KRAANG

Name: Unknown

Species: Kraang

Weapon: Super powered droid exo skeleton and laser gun

Team: Kraang

Nickelodeon version of Kraang alien.

The figure, sad to say has little features to it. It has limited articulation and only his guns as an accessory.

Kraang has five points of articulation, at the head, shoulders and thigh.

With the exception of the sculpting detail, there is really nothing exciting here at the back of the figure.

The Kraang figure came with two laser blasters. The figure holds the gun quite nicely, but the guns affect the figures balance making it a bit hard for it to stand upright.

Personally I like the sculpt of this gun than the other.

Weapon number two for the Kraang droid. It looks a bit weird for my taste.

The Kraang brain or alien is made of soft rubber material and can be easily removed from the exo skeleton droid.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUNANT NINJA TURTLES LEONARDO

Name: Leonardo

Weapon: Katana sword

Team: Ninja Turtles

Playmates did an excellent job making Leonardo. Aside from all the details on the body and head, Leonardo has all the articulation you need. The figure looks pretty good and a must have for TMNT fans.

Leonardo came with his signature weapon, his twin swords. In the old cartoon series Leonardo had two swords of the same length, two katanas. But now in the current Nickelodeon series he is seen using a katana and a wakizashi (a shorter sword).

Leonardo has a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulder, single hinge at the elbow as well as a swivel at his elbow, swivel at the wrist, single hinge at the thigh, single hinge knee and swivel at his knee. All in all that’s about 15 points of articulation.

Leonardo’s body parts, skin tone and head is unique from his siblings. Playmates really made a lot of effort in making the ninja turtle figures stand out from the rest.

Aside from his swords, Leo also came with several other weapons which include several kunai, throwing stars and an extra sword.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES MASTER SPLINTER

Name: Hamato Yoshi

Nickname: Master Splinter / Sensei

Weapon: Walking staff

Team: Ninja Turtles

Skills: Master of ninjutsu, Master of stealth and very intelligent.

Master Splinter is the head of the Ninja Turtles. He is the one who raised them and trained them in the art of ninjutsu.

Unlike the four turtles, Master Splinter had only a few point of articulation. He can move his head sideways, a ball jointed shoulder, swivel at the elbow, swivel at the waist (under the kimono) and a ball joint at the thigh. Oh and his tail is in a peg and can be moved.

Compared to his 80’s look, Master Splinter has added quite a bit of color and detail in his face. Previously he only had brown colored face. Look at him now!

At the back we can see his tail. The tail is made of a soft rubber material and is quite light. A lighter tail means it will not affect the figures balance and ability to stand.

Master Splinter came with his walking staff.

NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES SHREDDER

Name: Oroku Saki

Nickname: The Shredder

Weapons: Razor sharp armor and katana

Team: Foot Clan

Skills: Forbidden ninja techniques

Shredder is the master of the Foot Clan ninja and the arch nemesis of Splinter and the turtles.

Shredder’s articulation is not as good as the one's on the turtles which is kind of a let down. Shredder has a swivel at the neck, ball hinge shoulder, single joint elbow, swivel above the elbow, swivel at the wrist, swivel at the waist and hinge at his thigh.

I think that the upper body has enough articulation but the lower part lacks quite a bit. If I can only add one articulation, I would definitely add a hinge at the knee.

Shredder’s helmet, shoulder armor and bracers are all covered with blades or spikes. Although the shoulder armor is huge, it has articulation and does not hinder the shoulder's movement.

Check out Shredder’s huge feet, plus the huge shin armor with spikes. A little warning, Shredder’s knee has no articulation not even a single hinge. This limits the figure to a standing position.
